To Understand Big Data in Business and Science – deepsense.io workshops

“It was a challenge creating a 16-hour Machine Learning and Big Data workshop scenario! Two days is awfully little time. It took me quite some time to design the workshop. The key was very simple, I tried to ask myself: if I didn’t know machine learning and Spark, what would be a workshop that I would appreciate the most?” – Piotr Migda?, PhD, deepsense.io workshops Instructor and scenario’s author.

deepsense.io workshops have been successfully run in San Francisco and New York. During 62 hours, we had the pleasure to work with more than 50 students – CxOs, Directors, Business Developers, Entrepreneurs, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Technical Leads. Our participants were able to learn general knowledge and get a first taste of specific Big Data technologies (Python, IPython Notebook, Pandas, Seabron, scikit-learn, Spark, PySpark). This combination helps those who do not necessarily work with big data everyday to reach a wider concept. Participants will be able to find solutions which fit their needs.

“It was a great workshop during which I gained experience in how to use machine learning techniques with Spark. I can now go back to work and apply those concepts right away. I have really enjoyed the workshop!” – Ilya Sviridov, Principal Software Engineer, Mirantis

The big value of the training is that participants can learn from a master in the Machine Learning field. Piotr is a Data Scientist with a quantum physics background (PhD) and the author of numerous publications, he is available to answer questions right away. He knows what Machine Learning is and how to use it in Python. Jacek Laskowski, the second instructor, is a Java Champion and long-standing contributor to Apache open-source projects (TomEE, OpenEJB, Spark), so the part about Apache Spark will be addressed by an insider.

Big Data Week 2016

Who is it for?

The workshops are not for everyone. Everyone is welcome but we want to make sure that our participants will be able to benefit from the material as much as possible. The workshop is mainly aimed at people who can program (whether just a bit or are expert software engineers) and are enthusiastic to learn the practical basics of Machine Learning and Big Data processing. Piotr and Jacek guide participants to see the bigger picture and to help gain a deep sense of how to use specific tools in their company, team or a new business.

London is next!

Hope to see you there and wish you a great Big Data Week!

deepsense.io workshops – Hands-on Machine Learning (Python) and Big Data (Spark)

26-27th Nov & 28-29th Nov at Level39, London

The 2-day intensive Machine Learning workshop using hands-on exercises teaches a wide range of important Machine Learning algorithms and tools that we selected for their value in today’s market. The workshop offers a short yet comprehensive introduction to Machine Learning and Big Data processing, and then moves to practical exercises with many programming assignments.

Participants use Python with libraries for data manipulation (Pandas), visualization (Seaborn) and machine learning (scikit-learn). They can also learn IPython Notebook and PySpark from the Apache Spark project. By combining theory with an extensive set of practical exercises led by instructors who are practitioners in the field, each attendee can benefit from a very effective learning experience.
